I went and saw the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World a couple days ago. I really liked it. It was very different from what I thought it was going to be and I it was awesome. So, I picked up the game yesterday and started playing it. It’s basically double dragon/streets of rage, with 8 bit graphics. The graphics are pretty cool and bring back a lot of memories from past games I’ve played. So far I’m enjoying it. For $9.99 its a good deal. Check it out!

After I saw the movie I picked up both soundtracks. The movie had great music, and though its not the usual music I listen too, it’s great chillin’ music. Been listening to the soundtrack while working. Loving it.

I wish the music was in the video game. It seems the game was finished a while before the movie. It could have benefited greatly from having the soundtrack of the movie in the game.

I have been working on website stuff over the past month, mostly on my wife’s website http://www.experiencewildlife.com and adding all her images on her site. Its now at a pretty good spot. Check it out! She has some great works up there. We’ve been traveling quite a bit recently. In the past month we’ve been to Jacksonhole, Wyoming, Las Vegas, and I was in LA for E3. Jen just got back from Minnesota for a work conference for her day job. I think now we’re back at home for a while now. It actually feels good to just be home and have a normal work week. I’m going to really try to update my blog more often. Hopefully I’ll have some interesting things to talk about.

I finally have some time to get back into some games, like Red Dead Redemption which I’m at the last couple missions to finish the main story. I should complete this game later this week and have a review up soon. Its such an amazing game, and a lot of fun. Probably game of the year, but we’ll see what this year has to offer later around Christmas time, thought its going to be tough to beat.

Starcraft II comes out in the next couple weeks. I’m not sure if I’m going to pick it up though. Really all I want from Blizzard right now is Diablo 3. Just give me Diablo 3. I never played Starcraft back in the day. I was a Command and Conquer player, and never got into it. I played a fair bit of Warcraft 3, but I still fall back on Command and Conquer for my RTS fix. Right now there isn’t much coming out. I can’t think of any titles that I must play coming in the next couple months.

The difference for me, though its been a while since I read the book, is that I don’t remember the killer that’s doing the work for the Illuminati, being such a bad ass like he’s shown in the movie. This actually helps the movie quite a bit, but his part wasn’t as big in the book.

I really don’t have many complaints, overall is a good story, though I think as a book it works better than a movie just because of the subject matter and the back story that the movie doesn’t have the time to really dive into.  The film is pretty similar to the previous Da Vinci code and tells the story well.

Overall I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It’s a good entertaining movie, but doesn’t do anything unique in its story telling to make it stand out. Recommended but not necessarily a must see. This movie didn’t excite me all that much, which is why this review is so short

Not much in cheese factor here, just a pretty serious thriller.

So, all I have to say is WOW… coming in at about 9 and a half hours its a pretty confusing movie. I noticed the opening credits are extremely similar to the slow-mo filming that was in Zombieland. The movie skips around in the beginning quite a bit, but the plot finally shows up in the last 3 to 4 hours. I have to give credit where credit is due though, the special FXx are really great. I’m still confused on to where the speedy guy got the strange tiger with the horns. The movie never really explained it, then vaporized it. The movie never really explained much anything. It was difficult to really understand some of the back story to a lot of the characters, before they were killed off. Though it was nice to see Nixon retaking his role as president, just like in Futurama.

Overall, it was a strange, strange, movie which introduced characters and eviscerated them just as quickly. I am not quite sure to make of the political suggestions, but the war room scene with Nixon I swear was straight out of Dr. Strangelove.

I give it 2 stars out of 5. I would have rated it worse if the FX and fighting wasn’t somewhat cool.  I don’t think I’d ever watch it again but a good choice if you are running low on your movie queue on Netflix.

In cheesiness I give it 3 cheeses out of 5 due to just plain being confusing, which came off as cheesy.

MAG Interdiction is a brand new game mode built for 128 players. In it, two rival attacking factions fight to gain control of three different command posts while using armored convoys for every squad on the map (that’s right, 16 APCs onscreen at once!). To earn the victory, teams must capture and hold as many objectives as possible to increase their score while simultaneously decreasing their opponents’ score across three all-new “faction neutral” maps (Iron Creek Quarry, Lake Bayano Spur, and Sovot Motorway).
